Laten is a Danville native, a 2014 graduate of Westover Christian Academy, and a 2017 Graduate from the Funeral Service Education Department of Fayetteville Community College in North Carolina. He earned an AAS degree in Funeral Service education and earned a Funeral Service License in both NC and VA.

Barrett Wiles has spent his whole life as a Danville native, graduating from Tunstall High School in 2012 then later pursuing higher education at Danville Community College and Patrick Henry Community College. Barrett received his AAS in funeral services at John Tyler Community College graduating Cum Laude in 2020. Barrett has been with Townes Funeral Home for 8 years and is dedicated to helping families when grieving a loss of a loved one.
Matthew Pruitt is a Danville, Virginia native, and attended Westover Christian Academy, graduating in 2020 with an advanced diploma. He then graduated from Brightpoint Community College in 2022 with an AAS in Funeral Services, Suma Cum Laude. Matthew has been married to Malinda Millner since August 5, 2023. He is a Funeral Service Licensee in VA, Public Notary, and a CCO. Matthew is a member of Westover Baptist Church in Danville, Virginia.
Wallace “Rick” Adams, Jr. has worked at Townes Funeral Home for over fifty years. He graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Georgia, in August of 1975. In November of 1975 he received his Funeral Service License from Virginia along with his CCO.
On April 14, 1973, he married Mary Ellen Johnson. They have two children, Laura A. McClanahan and husband Glenn, of Danville, VA, and Lisa A. Kelpe and husband Mark, of Ruckersville, VA; and three grandchildren, Lee Adams, Elizabeth Kelpe, and Ryan Kelpe.
Rick is a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 235 and attends United Baptist Church.
Joseph C. Northen began working part-time for Townes Funeral Home as an Attendant in 2013. He and his wife, Kathy, retired that year after 40 years as church musicians serving together as Minister of Music and Organist/Music Associate, respectively. Their last 25 years of ministry were spent at First Baptist Church, Danville, VA. Joe’s dad was a career Army officer so he grew up in Georgia, Kentucky, Germany, Virginia, Japan and New York before settling in Virginia. Kathy’s family spent her early years in Iowa before settling in Illinois. Joe and Kathy have one adult son and one granddaughter who live in Harrisonburg, VA. Joe is a member of the Virginia Baptist Male Chorale and the Danville Area Choral Arts Society.
David has been a lifelong resident of Danville and had been associated with Townes Funeral Home for over 53 years and at the time of his retirement was president and owner of Townes Funeral Home, Inc. and F. W. Townes & Son, Inc. David was a graduate of Averett College and Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science. He is married to the former Joyce Conner of South Boston, Va. and they have two sons, David Lee Fuquay, Jr. (now deceased) and Thomas A. Fuquay; and a daughter, Kristen J. Fuquay. David was a past President of the Southside Funeral Directors Association, an active member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, a member of the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History and Roman Eagle Masonic Lodge No. 122.
