Mr. William "Cleo" Willis Sr. of 321 Wrenn Drive went to be with his Lord and his wife Ella on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Danville Regional Medical Center due to a decline in health. He was born July 26, 1933, a son of the late John B. Willis and Maude B. Willis. On August 31, 1956 he married Ella Brackin Willis who predeceased him on February 12, 2014. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by three brothers, Clyde Willis, Harvey Willis, and Jesse Willis, and three sisters, Ruby Murray, Dorothy Willis, and Gertrude Hightowers. He is survived by one sister Susie W. Kirby of Mebane, NC, one brother John D. Willis of Yanceyville, NC, one son William C. Willis Jr. and wife Patricia of Danville, one daughter Tammy W. Meadows and husband Barry of Danville, two grandchildren Stephanie A. Willis-Oberbeck and Stephen A. Willis, one great-grandchild Lilyanne A. Oberbeck, one step-grandchild Samantha Meadows, and one step-great-grandchild A.J. Law. Mr. Willis was a member of United Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for John W. Daniel Construction Co. for 30 years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Union United Methodist Church in Leasburg, NC with Reverend Harold Kisler and Reverend Dr. Adam Woods of United Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times will be at 321 Wrenn Drive. Townes Funeral Home, 215 West Main Street, is serving the Willis family.
