William Clark

December 30, 1938 — August 12, 2016

William David Clark, of 1601 Bennett Circle, Keeling, VA, died on Thursday, December, 8, 2016.  Born in Danville on December 30, 1938, he was the son of the late Guilford R. Clark and Mary Hutchins Clark Barker.    He is survived by his wife, Brenda Faye Clark; brother, James Giles Clark and wife Sallye; step-mother, Clara Clark; and nephew, Joseph Matthew Clark.    David enlisted in the Navy serving from 1956 to 1962.  After returning from the service, David married the love of this life, Brenda, on August 2, 1962.  He worked for the United States Postal Service and retired as a Postmaster in Collinsville, VA in 1988.  He belonged to many Masonic Affiliations, and was a member of White Oak Worship Center.    During their marriage, David and Brenda had many furry four legged friends. David worked with his beloved Solomon in shows and in search and rescue.    Funeral services will be held at Townes Memorial Chapel, on Monday, December 12, 2016, at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend Roger Ewing officiating. Burial will be in Highland Burial Park.    The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Danville or Pittsylvania County Animal Shelters.
