Whitney Slade Boswell Farris, 52 of Providence, NC died March 6, 2016 at Danville Regional Medical Center of an unexpected cause. She is survived by her husband Ronald Andrew Farris, and her daughter Slade Jordan Greenway also of Providence; her parents Randolph Edward and Ellen Cobb Boswell of Danville, VA; and her sister Lindsey Edwards Carroll and her daughter Chase Graham Carroll, both of High Point, NC. In honor of her wishes, a private family service will be held at Townes Funeral Home in Danville, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the men and women of the Providence Fire and Rescue, 6655 Old North Carolina 86, Providence, NC 27315. Their quick response and diligent service is greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. Whitney lived her young life literally all over the world. She then returned home to Danville for 25 years before she and Ron met, married and purchased their dream of country living. Always a love for animals of all kinds, domesticated and otherwise, Whitney was living her dream on the farm with her horses, chickens, cats, cockatiels, beta, and the wildlife of the farm. After supporting and watching Slade ride horses competitively for 13 years, Whitney learned to ride herself the last two years in the arena on her farm and the surrounding trails. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street, is serving the Farris family.
