Wanda Weese Perez 76, of Danville, died Sunday, March 17, 2013. Wanda was born May 1, 1936 to the late Edna Summerfield Weese and Richard Harper Weese in Montrose, WV. She graduated from Nitro High School in Nitro WV in 1954 and went on to earn an RN degree from the McMillan Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. Wanda is survived by Joyce Perez of Danville, Jeanette McDowell of Charlotte NC, Joseph Perez of Danville, Jean Roman of Zanesville OH, and Jill Perez of Danville; twelve grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In 1979 Wanda moved with her family to Danville, Va where she worked as a registered nurse at Danville Regional Medical Center in Employee Health, ICU and CCU. After her retirement she spent many happy years enjoying her grandchildren. Wanda was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church. She was active in the Women of the Church for many years. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Main Street Danville, with the Rev. Allen Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in Wanda's name to the First Presbyterian Church Organ Restoration Fund.
