Wade Thomas Blair Jr., 86, of 2537 Hinesville Road, Danville VA died on May 2, 2014. WT was born August 2, 1927 in Pittsylvania County, son of Wade Thomas Blair Sr. and Elsie Martin Blair. Surviving is his wife, Hilda Hylton Blair whom he married on March 28, 1948. After 46 years of service as Supervisor, WT retired from Dan River Mills in 1992. WT was a member of Brosville United Methodist Church and active in all areas of the church until his health failed. WT was a farmer and a collector who never sold anything. He loved to hunt, carve and paint, having a house full of birds, paintings, guns, knives and frying pans. Special thanks to his caregivers, Carolyn Boykin, Marsha Whirley and his very special companion, Amy Scarce. In addition to his wife, Hilda, he is survived by two daughters, Nancye Blair Milam and husband Charles of Greensboro NC, and Belinda Blair Carper and husband Ray of Danville, a son, Wade Thomas Blair III and wife Penny of Hinesville Road, Danville VA, three grandchildren, Blair Milam, Layne Blair Cahill and husband Devin and Wade Thomas Blair IV, one surviving sister, Doris Blair Walters of Durham NC and two deceased sisters, Inez Blair Anderson and Ruth Blair Hardy. Funeral services will be at Brosville United Methodist Church at 11am on Monday, May 5, 2014. Following the funeral service, burial will be at the Owen family cemetery on Route 58, Brosville VA. Visitation will be at the residence on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 4-6 pm. Memorials may be made to the Brosville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
