Vivian Goad McDaniel passed away at Sovah of Danville on July 2, 2019 at the age of 91. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family. Mrs. McDaniel was born in Danville on October 2, 1927, daughter of the late Charles Tillman Goad and Connie Martin Goad. She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Harding Woodrow McDaniel. They were married by Pastor Barbour on Holbrook Street on August 29, 1945. Upon passing Vivian was the second longest member of the former Moseley Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member most of her life as well as a member of the Moseley Memorial Choir. Mrs. McDaniel was a former Sunday School teacher for the Children’s Department and remained a strong supporter of the children even when homebound. She entered Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on December 10, 2010. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Linda M. Bass (Barry) of Sutherlin, Roger L. McDaniel (Caroline) of St. Albans, W. VA, and JoAnne M. Cassell of Danville, grandchildren: Stephanie B. Gibson, Steven Bass, Caroline M. Buscher, Christian M. Cassell, Micah C. Cassell and Shiloh D. Cassell and five great-grandchildren. Besides her parents she is predeceased by brothers and sisters, Bertha H. Collins, James B. Goad, Janie G. Deitrick and Charles T. Goad, Jr. The family would like to thank each and every one who cared for Vivian - for their exceptional love and care throughout her eight and one-half years at Roman Eagle, especially, Nancy, Melinda, and Vickie. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. from Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Bob Yeaman officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 A.M., and at other times will be at the residence, 639 Mowbray Arch.
