Virginia Ashworth Hylton died on Friday, January 17. She was born July 31, 1926 in Pittsylvania County to William Henry Ashworth and Hattie Cassada Ashworth. On December 24, 1943 she married Charles Dickerson Hylton, Jr. Ginny was devoted to her family and dedicated her life to making a home for them. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; three brothers, William Ashworth, Henry Ashworth and Neal Ashworth; and sister, Violet Ashworth Oakes. She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Hylton Davis of Danville and Robyn Hylton Hansen and her husband, Paul, of Williamsburg; and grandchildren, Leslie Davis Conway and her husband, Leonard, of Greensboro, NC; Kristen Hansen, Lauren Hansen and Nicholas Hansen, all of Williamsburg. She is also survived by two brothers, Robert (Bob) Ashworth and Wayne Ashworth, both of Danville; and one sister Elva (Ebbie) Ashworth McLean of Greensboro, NC. Funeral services for Mrs. Hylton will be held Tuesday, January 21 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church with Reverend Barry Foster and Reverend Lee H. Strange officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 20 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Townes Funeral Home and will be at the residence at other times. The family asks in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Danville Life Saving Crew or to the charity of the donor's choice. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street, is serving the Hylton family.
