Vincent Charles Beyer passed away Saturday October 17, 2015 at the Brookdale Stokesland of Danville at the age of 95. Mr. Beyer was born February 13, 1920 in Newark, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Charles Beyer, Jr. and Mary Ann Rittweger Beyer. Before moving to Danville in 1973 he was a general contractor in Belmar, New Jersey. He served with distinction in the Second World War as a Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps with the 10th Photo Tech Unit, taking up a post as an American Legion Post Commander on his return to Belmar. He was married to Rosa Belle Beyer who preceded him in death on February 16, 2001. Besides his parents and his wife Mr. Beyer was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Priscilla and a grandson, Gerald W. Beyer, Jr. Mr. Beyer is survived by three sons Thomas R. Beyer and wife Marie , Waynesville NC; Gerald W. Beyer, Sr., Danville, VA; Gary D. Beyer and wife Phyllis, Danville, VA. Four Grandchildren Allison Smith, Laura Reid, Elliott Beyer and Madeline Beyer. Two Great Grandchildren Makayla and Zakary Reid. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Highland Burial Park with Reverend John Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. In his honor, in lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that memorial donations be made to the Danville Life Saving and First Aid Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA 24541.
