Elizabeth Valeria Hammock Weadon, age 79, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 in the Duke University Medical Center. She was born in Franklin County, Va. a daughter of the late Warrior C. Hammock and Cordie Huff Hammock. She had lived most of her life in Danville and was a member of Sandy Shores Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lawrence Epps and her second husband, Luther Weadon, Jr. She was a sales representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics and Interior Design. Survivors include her daughter, Karen McCormick of Danville; four sons, Randy Epps (Cathy) and Carlton Epps (Karen) both of Danville, Michael Epps of Greensboro, and Jackie Weadon (Sheila) of Chatham; brother, Kenneth Hammock (Bernice) of Danville; two sisters, Dorothy Eanes of Danville and Agnes Champion of Swansonville; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 2 PM at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Billy Scearce and Pastor Daniel Custer officiating. Burial will be in Schoolfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home Tuesday night from 7 to 8:30 PM and at other times at the residence of her son, Randy Epps, 135 Searcy Street, Danville, VA.
