Timothy Meadors

November 10, 1957 — March 3, 2013

Timothy Milton Meadors, beloved father, husband, companion, mentor, Eagle Scout, fellow Kiwanian and friend, went to be with his heavenly Father on Sunday, March 3, 2013. Tim was born in Danville on October 11, 1957 a son of Thelma Brammer Meadors of Danville and the late Rural Edward Meadors. A graduate of George Washington High School and Old Dominion University and affiliated with Danville Distributing as an accountant. Tim was active in Boy Scouts Troop 374 at Saint Luke's United Methodist Church, active in the Kiwanis Club, a lover of the outdoors, and biked cross country after graduating from ODU. He loved to walk his faithful companions Summer and Cuddles early in the morning. Tim was a member of First Presbyterian Church and served as the church treasurer. Besides his Mother Tim is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Matherly Meadors, daughter, Marissa A. Meadors and a son, Colin L. Meadors of the home. Also surviving are his sister, Charlotte M. Trow and her husband Tommy of Richmond and a brother, John Meadors and his wife Denise of Tulsa, OK. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. from Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Allen Thompson and the Reverend Daryl Joyce officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 6 to 7:30 P.M. and at other times will be at the residence, 133 Waterford Court. The family respectfully request that memorials may be directed to the Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian Church, 937 Main Street, Danville, VA 24541. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Meadors family.
