Thomas Edward White, 77, of Dry Fork, Virginia, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 10, 2023. He was born on May 17, 1945, in Danville, Virginia, to the late James White and the late Dora Mae Kirks White and raised by his grandparents, Charlie Everett White and Dealie Gammon White who also predeceased him.
Tommy served in the 504th Infantry of the US Army, as a Specialist 4 Corporal until being honorably discharged in 1969. He then worked as a traveling welder, worked for Nestle, and eventually Goodyear from which he retired from in 2017. After his retirement he enjoyed leisurely activities such as gardening, hunting, and fishing.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife Cindy of 35 years, as well as his 3 brothers Jimmie White (Shirley), Johnny White, and Jackie White (Patricia) and sister Gail Adkins. Also surviving are Tommy’s daughter, Brittney Keith (Derrike), stepdaughter Crystal Nemec (Michael), and son Timmy White (Melissa). Tommy has eight grandchildren including Riley Woodel, Savannah Nemec, Caden Keith, Dalton White, Levi White, Chase White, Kyle White, and Joey White. He also has one great grandchild, Collier White.
The family will have a visitation open to family and friends at Swansonville Pentecostal Holiness Church on Sunday, March 19, from 3-4pm with a memorial service to follow at 4pm. There will be a private graveside service at a later date.
