Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Lee Scearce, Sr., age 70 left this Earth for his Heavenly Home on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Danville Regional Medical Center. He had been in declining health for the past four years. Tommy was born in Danville on November 10, 1944, a son of Elizabeth Bowyer Scearce of Danville and the late James Leonard Scearce, Sr. Besides his Father he was predeceased by a son, Tommy Scearce, Jr.; sister, Phyllis Collins; and brothers, James Len Scearce, Jr. and Wilbur Scearce. Tommy was of the Baptist faith. He was owner and operator of Scearce's Garage and Auto Towing for many years. He was a past member of the Pelham Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his Mother he is survived by his wife, Sally Pruitt Scearce of the home; a son Tim Scearce; daughters, Lisa and Christie; and a sister, Karen Johnston. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; special nephews, Allen and Stephen; and special care givers, Judy Ann and Casey. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Wayne Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on March 15, 2015 from 1 to 2 P.M. and at other times will be the residence in Pelham, NC. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Danville Cancer Association, 223 Riverview Drive, Suite J, Danville, VA 24541.
