Thelma Henry Wyatt Thelma Henry Wyatt, age 101, of 154 Howeland Circle, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at her residence. She was born November 29, 1911, a daughter of Charles D. Henry and Hattie Newby Henry. On October 23, 1932 she married Garnett Earl Wyatt, who predeceased her May 30, 1980. Thelma was a charter member of West Main Baptist Church and a former member of the Danville Golf Club. She was a descendent of Patrick Henry. She loved to play golf, bowl, play bridge and enjoyed attending the Mary Summers Garden Club. Her greatest passion in life was loving and caring for her family members who include a daughter, Shirley Wyatt Moore; three grandchildren, Terri Adams, Sharon Browning (Brian) and Earl Moore (Sarah); two great-grandchildren, Ian Adams (Lauren) and David Adams (Katie); and a great-great-grandson, Liam Adams. Funeral services will be held at Townes Memorial Chapel, Friday, January 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Bruce Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence. "The family would like to thank our extended family who helped us take such loving care of Mrs. Wyatt - Cheryl Lucas, Sarah Smith, Patty Subine and our family from Royalty Care, Jodie Coleman, Karen Gregory, Frances Elliott and Sheena Neville. Thank you also to Liberty Hospice." The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Main Baptist Church, 450 West Main Baptist Church, Danville, VA 24541 or to Patrick Henry Boys and Girls Home, 860 Red Hill Road, PO Box 1398, Brookneal, VA 24528.
