Suzanne Bishop Inlow, 95, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2021, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, on September 25, 1925, the daughter of the late Lee Bishop and Bonita Brown Bishop. She was predeceased by her two sisters and her brother. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Richard M. Inlow, daughters Mary Lee Milani (Mark), Elizabeth Ann Moseley (Glenn), and Eva E. Inlow. She was proud of and dearly loved her five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Suzanne grew up at the Bayou in the family home, Evan Grove, on Lee Bishop Road, named for her father, and graduated Valedictorian of her senior class. During WWII Suzanne worked for the FBI and the Navy Department. She then attended Auburn University where she met Richard. After graduating from Auburn University with a Major in Foods and Nutrition and spending a year as an intern in Albany, New York, she accepted a position as Dietitian at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Moving back to Alabama, she held the position of Head Dietitian at The Perry County Hospital in Marion. When the family relocated to Danville in 1967, she attended Graduate school at Averett University, earning a Master's Degree in English. She then joined the English Department at George Washington High School and taught English there until her retirement. Suzanne has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Danville since 1967, serving on, and chairing various committees and charitable ministries. She also served as a Deaconess. After retirement, she and Richard were fortunate enough to enjoy trips to Europe, cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean, and bus trips around the United States, occasionally accompanied by one or all of their daughters. She was an ardent swimmer and enjoyed anything having to do with nature. She often spent many hours fishing at the family cabin at Wildwood Lake and enjoying the peaceful scenery. She was also an avid reader and joined book clubs wherever she resided. Suzanne also enjoyed serving as a docent at the Danville Museum. The family is being served by Townes Funeral Home.
