Susan Jackson Simpson passed away peacefully in her home, October 16, 2021. Born January 3, 1949 in Danville, VA, the daughter of the late Norman and Nadine Jackson. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Howard “Pete” Simpson, their daughter, Wendy Simpson Berkhead, son-in-law David, 3 grandchildren, Grace, Jackson, and Stella, sister, Janet Scott and 2 nephews, Will Scott and John Scott. Susan was a member of Rivermont Baptist Church. She enjoyed being with the ladies in her Sunday School class on Sunday mornings. Susan was quite the social butterfly, she loved being out and about doing things with her friends. Susan had a genuine love for children and cared for many of them in her home over the years. Her true pride and joy were her 3 grandchildren, who proudly call her Mimi. The family extends their gratitude to all of the beloved caregivers that so graciously provided excellent care for Susan during her decline in health. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 23 at 2:00 PM at Rivermont Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM prior to the service.
