Steven Philip Pinekenstein passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Duke University Medical Center. Steve was born on July 3, 1957 in Danville, VA to the late William (Bill) Pinekenstein and Doris Millner Pinekenstein. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Mosley Memorial United Methodist Church. Steve worked in design with Cablevision in Danville and Richmond, VA in quality control with Slant Systems and Commodore Homes, and later with Raywood Landscaping prior to his illness. He is survived by his wife Laura Creasy Pinekenstein and daughter Lauren Haley Pinekenstein of the residence. He is also survived by brothers Alan Pikekenstein of Deltaville, VA. Henry (Hank) Pinekenstein (Linda) of Danville, VA. Mark Pinekenstein (Susan) of California, MD; and many nieces and nephews. Steve enjoyed watching Nascar racing and was an avid Duke Blue Devil basketball fan. A chapel service will be held at Townes Memorial Chapel in Danville on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 3PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and immediately after the service. There will be a private graveside service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Danville Cancer Association or charity of your choice.
