Steven Fletcher Emerson, age 53 of 2280 Hunters Lane, Blairs left his Mother's and Father's loving care and entered into God's loving care on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Danville Regional Medical Center after a decline in health for the past seven years. Steven was born in Danville on September 28, 1961, a son of Louis F. Emerson and Nancy Emerson of the home. He was a member of Faith Church Ministries for the past 44 years. Steven received special education in the City of Danville Public School system and was a graduate of the Institute for Achievement of Human Potential in Philadelphia, PA. He was very proud of achieving his diploma for twelve years of education and for his high grades. Steven loved music, his swing and going to the YMCA. He enjoyed playing the keyboard, guitar and the drums and going bowling. Besides his parents he is survived by his very loving and devoted sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Gerald L. Yeatts of Blairs. Also surviving are nephews; Gerald Lee Yeatts, Jr. of Lynchburg, Pastor Joshua Louis Yeatts and his wife Shannon of Blairs, great-nephew, Cole Yeatts of Blairs, special aunts and uncles; Ann and Kenny Laws, Danville, Barbara and David Bibee of Blairs, Kathy and Buddy Dixon of Danville and Marion Lovelace of Pelham, NC., his special and loving caregivers, Vivian Hall and Libby Scott both of Danville. Thank you for your loving care for so many years of Steven's life. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Danville Regional Medical Center for their love and support during Steven's illness and to Townes Funeral Home and Crematory for their professional care of our family. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 7 to 8:30 P.M. and at other times will be at the residence, 2280 Hunters Lane in Blairs. A celebration of Steven's life will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Pastor Joshua Louis Yeatts and the Reverend Jerry Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Emerson family.
