On February 1, 2024, Stephen Duval Martin III, age 71, was delivered from the jaws of death and the grave and received into the realms of Glory and into the arms of Jesus! “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” I Cor 15:55
Steve was born in San Antonio, TX to Thomas Clarke Martin, Sr. and Edith Doyle Martin on August 22, 1952. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife Roberta Havens Martin. Steve is survived by a son, Jonathan Batten Martin, his wife, Gretchen, and their son, Logan; a step-daughter, Kimberly Lea Turlington, and her son, Colton; a sister, Sandy Feinfield, and her husband, Ken, and their children, Jeffery and Leanne; a brother, Clarke Martin, his wife, Debbie, and his sons, Thomas and Miles; and first cousins Mary Clark German, Priscilla Doyle Johnson, Marti Doyle Jenkins, Sue Robertson Lieb, Julie Robertson Blackburn, Martin Doyle, Kathy Doyle Rhodes, Frances Doyle.
Steve lived most of his life in Danville, Durham, and the Orlando area, enjoying 28 years in law enforcement having served all three areas. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and hunting, but loved horses and dogs…mostly horses! He loved his family and friends.
Family visitation will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, at White Oak Worship Center, 8465 US-29, Blairs, VA 24527 starting at 12:30pm followed by a memorial service from 1:00-1:45PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift to the WOWC Building Fund or to the charity of your choice.
