Shirley Ann Wyatt Moore, 89, of Danville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
Shirley was born on October 23, 1934, a daughter of the late Garnett Earl Wyatt and Thelma Henry Wyatt. Shirley worked for her father at Wyatt Chevrolet until the dealership was sold. She obtained an associate degree at Averett University, worked in the Danville school system, and later worked as an executive assistant to Dr. Harold Henry at Averett University until she retired.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Sharon Browning (Brian), her son, Earl Moore (Sarah), her grandchildren, David Adams (Katie), Ian Adams (Lauren), and Jodi Coleman, and her great-grandchildren, Liam Adams, Charlotte Adams, and Evelyn Adams.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Wallace Carroll Moore, and her daughter, Terri Adams.
Anyone who knew Shirley would have observed her kindness, generosity, and the deep love she had for her family. Her love and spirit would be felt the moment you walked through her door. Shirley loved her dogs and could often been seen walking them around the neighborhood.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Townes Funeral Home with Pastor Drew Herring officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park.
