Sandra Jean Sater Wilson, 61, of 450 Brightwell Dr., Danville, VA, died on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC, after a sudden decline in health. Ms. Wilson was born in Danville, VA, on April 10, 1961, a daughter of the late Jack Simon Sater and the late Velma Hamlett Sater. She was a graduate of Danville Community College. She worked as an Orthopedic LPN for over 30 years until her retirement from Spectrum Orthopedic Clinic. She was of the Christian Faith. Some of her favorite pastimes were trips to the beach, reading, and painting with her best friend, Pat. She especially enjoyed going out to eat on Thursday nights with her “dinner crew” as she called them. She is survived by a son, James Lewis (Laura Beth), of Keeling, VA; a daughter, Laura Klump (Michael), of Glen Burnie, MD; three grandchildren, Waylon Lewis, Janson Lewis, and Ayden Samuels; a brother, Scott Saternye (Patty), of Charlottesville, VA; a sister, Susan Hildreth (David), of Forest, VA; and her boyfriend of five years, Edward Woods. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 7:00 PM at Townes Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM and at other times will be at the residence, 450 Brightwell Dr., Danville, VA.
