Ruth Myers Lawton, 98, resident of Bright Leaf Place in Danville, VA entered into eternal rest on November 12, 2019. She was born on February 24, 1921, the daughter of the late Charles Hayden Myers and Louise Sebring Myers. On June 15, 1945, she married Frank Bostick Lawton, Jr. who preceded her in death on February 17, 1986. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed greatly. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Danville. She completed her RN training in Des Moines, Iowa and later worked there in the hospital. She was a member of the Army Nurses Corps in WWII and spent most of her adult life in the nursing profession and nursing others. She is survived by her daughters Barbara Brinson and husband, Mills of High Point, NC, and Gail Jeter and husband Tom of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Adriane Brinson Bass (Brian), Jay Brinson (Claire), Erin Brinson Fawcett (Dustin), Will Jeter (Ashley), Molly Jeter Netzler (Peter), Ben Jeter (Emilie). She was blessed with twelve great grandchildren. A celebration of life graveside service will be conducted at Danville Memorial Gardens on Friday November 22 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Steve Willis officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
