On Monday, January 21, 2013, Anne Dove Jones departed from her home at 1050 Linden Lane, Danville to join her Lord and Savior in her Heavenly home. Anne was born on December 11, 1929 in the Westover Community, where she spent her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Charles Acree Dove and the late Ruth Garrett Dove. Anne was predeceased by her two brothers Charles Acree Dove, Jr. in 2000 and William Garrett Dove, Sr. in 2002 At age 18, Anne went to work for the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce as their bookeeper. This would be her life long career until her retirement at age 71 in 2001. She served both the residents of and vistors to the city of Danville for 53 years. Anne married Calvin Edward Jones, Sr. on June 22, 1951 at Fairview United Methodist Church. Ed predeceased her in February 2007 after 55 years of marriage. Anne was a member of the Westover Hills United Methodist Church. Anne is survived by her son Calvin "Eddie" Jones, Jr. and his wife Linda of Providence, NC. Anne as three grandchildren: Calvin Jones III and his wife Brenda of Danville; Alex Jones and his wife Whitney of Danville and Jonathan Edward Richardson-Jones of Providence, NC. Anne has four great-grandchildren; Meagan Black and her husband Devin of Wilson, NC; Keith Cook of Danville, Hannah Jones and David Jones of Danville. A family visitation will be held at Townes Funeral Home on Thursday evening, January 24, 2013 from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. from the Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Robert Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Jones family.
