Ruth Anderson

Ruth Lumpkin Anderson, age 91, of Danville, passed away on June 19, 2018, at Sovah Health of Danville, Virginia.  Ruth was born on August 16, 1926, in Pittsylvania County to Hollis Nelson Lumpkin and Ollie Slaughter Lumpkin.  In February 1950 she married Thomas Talbott Anderson II who predeceased her in July, 1993.  Ruth is survived by her three sons, Tommy Anderson of Danville, Rodger Anderson and wife Kathy of Yorktown, and Waldo Anderson of Danville, her grandchildren Todd, Beth, and Ben, and her great grandchildren Ann-Pryor, Keegan, Thomas, and Sarah.  Ruth is also survived by her sister Ann Lumpkin Spivey of Yorktown.  In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.  A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on Saturday, June 30th, at 3 pm with a visitation following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her honor be gifted to the Danville Life Saving Crew, or to a charity of your choice.
