Ronald Carlton Lollis, 86, of Danville, VA, entered into his rest, on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at his residence.
He was born on May 8, 1936, in Danville, VA, a son of the late Alonzo Lollis and Elizabeth Pritchett Lollis. He spent most of his life in the Danville area where worked in the building material business until his retirement. He was a member of the Danville Elks Lodge 227, where he was Exalted Ruler for two terms and district deputy of the State of Virginia Elks. He was of the Baptist Faith. He proudly served his nation in the Virginia Army National Guard. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and camping.
On October 6, 1956, he married Carrol Martin Lollis, whom he loved with a passion that would never die.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Anita (Ray), Daron (Betty), Tammy (Hal); 14 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Colette; brother, Neal; and a sister Carolyn.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 11 AM at Townes Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Doug Barber officiating. A joint interment of Ronald Lollis and his daughter Colette Lollis will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister-in-law, 1102 Greenwood Ave, Danville, 24541.
