Robert Mills

Robert Lee Mills, 77, of Danville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 28, 2018 in Danville after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Danville on February 18, 1941 a son of the late Posey Arthur Mills and Cora Lee Scarce Mills. Robert was married to Mildred Lou Harris Mills who predeceased him on April 13, 2013.  He was retired from Dan River, Inc. and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by two daughters, Robbie M. Bowman and husband, Ronald of Sutherlin,  Va. and Priscilla Diane Bass and husband, Jim of Ringgold, Va.; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way; two sisters, Louise Oakes of Danville and Hazel Hackworth of Danville; three step-sons, David, Victor and Ricky Walker.  In addition to his late wife, Robert was predeceased by a brother and two sisters. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 31, 2018 at 11 am at Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3:30 to 5:00 pm at the funeral Home. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to The American Parkinson Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305
