Robert Giese

Robert "Bob" Giese, 68, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015. He was born September 5, 1946 in Abilene, Kansas. Bob loved sports and had a long career as a Sales Representative for various sporting goods companies including Rawlings, Johnson and Johnson Athletic Division and Royal Textiles/Duke Athletic of Yanceyville. Bob and his wife Virginia "Ginny" moved to Yanceyville in 2000 where he worked as Eastern Sales Manager for Russell Athletic until his retirement in 2003. Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ginny; sister Patricia and her husband Mike Smith of Flagler Beach, FL; and son Ronald Bouley of Des Moines, IA. Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed long walks with his wife Ginny and their dogs. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Yanceyville. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association. A memorial service will be held at Townes Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Joe Northen officiating. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street, Danville, VA is serving the Giese family.
