Richard Taylor

January 5, 1963 — October 27, 2013

Richard Lewis Taylor died October 27, 2013. He was born May 1, 1963, in Hampton, Virginia, and was the son of Daniel L. Taylor and Linda F. Taylor, of Danville, Virginia. He moved back to Caswell County after a serious car accident in South Carolina in May 2013. Afterwards he went to live with a good friend and mentor Larry N. White to try to recover from those injuries. Although he never fully recovered, he was able to help with the farm: he loved caring for the sheep and continued to do small engine work. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1982, attended DCC, and was hired by Totes Isotoner when the company was located in Danville, Virginia. He transferred to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he continued to work as an IT Technician for Isotoner. He later relocated back to Danville, and began his own computer repair business. He never met a stranger, and was always full of life and humor. Two nicknames he had were "The Stick" and "Electronics Man". Prior to the car accident, Richard lived in Wrightsville Beach, NC with his brother and his brother's fiancée Barbara. Together they experienced many of life's adventures from catching grouper and snapper as deep sea commercial fishermen to building a successful heating and air conditioning company. He enjoyed vacationing and especially helping others in need. He took great pride in supervising many projects, and anyone he worked with loved him dearly. He was so kind to others and will be missed very much. Surviving family include his parents, Dan and Linda Taylor; two sisters, Lisa R. Taylor, Fort Mill, SC, and Deborah L. Vernon, Graham, NC; a brother, Daniel L. Taylor, Jr. of Wrightsville Beach, NC; six nephews, Taylor Vernon, Daniel Carter Vernon, Connor Crutchfield, Colin Crutchfield, Holden Taylor, and Michael Taylor; an aunt, Linda T. Graybeal and husband Carl of North Augusta, SC; and an uncle George D. Taylor and wife Claudia of Blowing Rock, NC. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM at West Main Baptist Church with the Reverend Bruce Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Townes Funeral Home.
