Reba Hartley Lambert of 339 Hampton Drive died in her home on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 after experiencing declining health for a number of months. She was born in Fort Valley, Georgia on September 19, 1924, a daughter of the late Alton Hartley and Eva Mae Jones Hartley. Mrs. Lambert was married to the late Henry Lambert who died in 1997. She was secretary at People's Auto Supply, West Main Baptist Church and Coca Cola Bottling Company. Mrs. Lambert attended school in Rome, GA and graduated from Carrol Lynn Business College. She had served as secretary/president of the Danville Civitan Club from 1988 to 1990. Mrs. Lambert was member of the Garden Club and a dedicated volunteer at Schoolfield Elementary School. She was a faithful member of West Main Baptist Church since 1958. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by a sister, Betty Jane Austin. Mrs. Lambert is survived by two daughters; Nancy Davis (Carlton) of Garden City, SC and Melodie Williams (W.H.) of Danville. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Kim Hensley (Harold), Alex Houston (Katherine), Wendy Price (David), Shannon Baker (Kent) and Susan Kline (Bob) and eight great-grandchildren. A special thanks to care givers Vivian Watkins, Kenisha Hubbard, Denise Wells, and Gloria James for their loving care and support during her illness. Thanks also to the nurses and staff of Commonwealth Home Nursing and Hospice Staff for their guidance and concern. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to West Main Baptist Church, 450 West Main Street, Danville, VA 24541. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. from West Main Baptist Church with the Reverend Bruce Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at West Main Baptist Church on August 29, 2015 from 1:30 to 2:45 P.M. and at other times will be at the residence, 339 Hampton Drive.
