Randy W. Sinclair of 407 Wyndover Drive, Danville, Virginia died on April 22, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Sinclair was born September 15, 1945, to the late Ashton and Mabel Sinclair. Randy is survived by his wife, June "Cookie" Sinclair, of the residence, one daughter, Ashton Asher, and her husband Jeremy, one stepdaughter, Tammy E. Shelton, and her husband, Tony, one stepson, Paul E. Estes, and his wife Heather. Randy is survived by four grandchildren, Karsyn Asher, Samantha Shelton, Travis Shelton and Kenton Estes. Randy is also survived by his brother, William J. Sinclair, and his wife, LouAnn, of Layton, Utah, in addition to nieces and nephews, Randy grew up in Abingdon, Virginia, graduated from Abingdon High School and attended Virginia Tech. While at Virginia Tech he was elected to membership in the Gregory Guard, the Corp of Cadets elite marching unit; Arnold Air Society; Scabbard and Blade; Virginia Tech German Club; Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Fraternity; and Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. During his senior year at Virginia Tech, Randy served as Regimental Commander for the Corp of Cadets and graduated in 1967, with a regular commission in the US Air Force. Immediately after graduation from VT, Randy served four years in the Air Force achieving the rank of Captain during his tour of duty. Following his service in the Air Force, he attended T. C. Williams School of Law, at the University of Richmond and obtained a J.D. degree and joining the Law Firm of Anderson & Anderson, and its later successors Anderson, Anderson & Sinclair, Anderson, Sinclair & Heard, Fowler, Sinclair & Heard, Sinclair & Heard, and in 1996, his own practice as Randy W. Sinclair, P.C., having practiced law for 39 years in the City of Danville. Randy was appointed Assistant Commissioner of Accounts for the Circuit Court of Danville, Virginia in May of 1996, and appointed Commissioner of Accounts in February 2002. He was a member of the Danville Bar Association, Virginia State Bar and American Bar Association and served on the Board of Directors of the Conference of Commissioner of Accounts. Randy was an active member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church having served in many positions. Prior to being a member of St. Luke's, he had been an active member of the Church of the Epiphany. The family will receive friends at St. Luke's United Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and at other times the family will receive friends at the residence, 407 Wyndover Drive, Danville, Virginia 24541. Funeral services will be held at Saint Luke's United Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Dr. Paul Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the St. Luke's UMC Agape Fund, a fund in which Randy helped establish, or God's Store House.
