Raleigh Warren

March 9, 1937 — September 10, 2015

Tom Warren, 78, of Danville, Va., passed away October 9, 2015 at Duke Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer for the past 4 years. Born on September 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Raleigh T. Warren Sr. and Ruby M. Warren. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a son, Andy Warren. Tom enlisted in the Navy in 1954. Following his discharge from the Navy, he attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He was retired from Goodyear. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the church he loved with all his heart. Tom is survived by his wife, Sandra, of the residence; three sons, Tommy Warren (Debbie) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Todd Wilson (Kerri), and Greg Warren all of Danville; two granddaughters, Sophie Wilson and Mikayla Taylor; and two brothers, Robert Warren (Helen) and Ronnie Warren (Nancy). He is also survived by his loving companion Chancey. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, on Monday, October 12, 2015 at First Baptist Church with the Reverend John Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, on Monday at First Baptist Church from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM and other times at the residence 3000 North Main Street. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, God's Pit Crew or to God's Storehouse. Townes Funeral Home is serving the Warren family.
