Rachel Moore

Rachel T. Moore went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2021. Rachel was born on August 5, 1933 to the late E.C. and Amanda Ewing Townsend. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved gardening and working in her flower gardens. She lived most of her life in Danville, VA and later years living in Martinsville, VA. She was of the Baptist faith. Rachel was predeceased by her brothers; George, Richard, Hubert, Floyd, and Jesse Townsend. She also is predeceased by her sister, Audrey T. Goodman and granddaughter Stephanie Wilson. Rachel is survived by her loving husband and caregiver Tommy H. Moore, son Mark Moore (Jan), daughters; Kimberly Wiles (Michael), Marsha Walker (Chris) and a brother John Townsend, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 2:00pm at Townes Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00pm and at other times at the residence of Kimberly Wiles, 1190 Deercrest Lane, Danville, VA 24541.
