Born on February 25th, 1942 to Fred James and Pernie Sizer Ashby, she was a lifelong resident of Danville, Virginia. A 1960 graduate of George Washington High School, Priscilla was called to the noble profession of nursing, receiving her LPN from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and attending the University of Virginia's Special Surgical Program. She labored as a scrub nurse at Danville Memorial Hospital and as the late Dr. Greenberg's personal scrub nurse for many years. Most especially, she diligently cared for her dear son, Jerry Wayne his entire life. She was a lifelong member of Schoolfield Baptist Church in Danville- her faith unshakable and her works undeniably sincere and practiced with compassion. In 1970, she married her soulmate of 44 years, Gerald W. "Jerry" Beyer Sr. Along with her husband, she is survived by her loving daughters, Allison and fiancé Keith Smith, Laura and husband Charles Reid and her two darling grandchildren, Makayla and Zachary Reid, sister in law, Fran Ashby of Danville, several nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and friends, and her sweet dog, Abby. She returns to be with her family and friends that have passed on before her: parents Fred and Pernie Ashby, brother, Dr. Bob Ashby, and her dear son, Gerald Wayne "Jerry Wayne" Beyer Jr. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 23rd, 2015 at 11:00am at Schoolfield Baptist Church located at 12 Schoolfield Drive, Danville, VA.
