Phyllis Hubbard Camm, age 90, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. She was born on July 28, 1928 in Richmond, VA to the late John Joseph Hubbard and Phyllis Garrison Hubbard. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her husband, Edward Tyler Camm; two daughters, Susan Anderson and Mary Camm; and a son-in-law, Jerry Dycus. Phyllis was retired from Danville Community College where she worked in the business department. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a UNC sports fan and loved the beach. She was a past volunteer with hospice and at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Phyllis is survived by three daughters, Sally Ann Dycus, Joan Decker and her husband David, and Lynn Dixon and her husband Mark; six grandchildren, Sherry King, Carrie Johnson (Corbin), Amy Hazelwood (Clint), Kelly Ruocco (Patrick), Jed Dixon (Lauren), and Ben Anderson; five great-grandchildren, Luke King, Allie Johnson, Tristan Johnson, Taylor Johnson, and Anthony Ruocco; and one sister, Sandra Hamill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 12:00 PM with Father Jonathan Goertz officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 to 11:45 AM prior to the service.
