Peggy Williams

Peggy Batterman Williams, age 82 of 1417 Kentuck Road died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Center after a decline in health.                She was born in the Ringgold Community of Pittsylvania County on April 28, 1934, a daughter of the late Frederick Christian August Batterman and Hattie Keen Batterman.                Peggy was a member of Kentuck Baptist Church and was retired from Dan River High School as Librarian.                Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers; William (Bill) August Batterman, Clinton (Dick) Batterman, Charles Batterman and Brantley Batterman, sisters; Geraldine Swicegood and Emma Vick.                Surviving are her husband of the home; Frank Eugene Williams, sister, Betty Gibson, Danville and brother, Mickle Batterman of Waxhaw, NC.                Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at Kentuck Baptist Church with the Reverend Allen Mahan officiating.  Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service and at other times will be at the residence of her sister Betty Gibson, 1429 Kentuck Road.                Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Williams family.
