Patsy Hundley Barr, age 72, of Midlothian, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 4, 2017, after a prolonged illness. Patsy was born to the late Robert and Lillian Hundley on April 1, 1944 in Danville, VA. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, David Martin Barr, who took care of her in their home until her final days. Patsy is also survived by her three devoted daughters, Jayne Manetz, Rebecca Wiebe, and Anne Bell, her sons-in-law Kevin, Michael, and Daniel, as well as her nine grandchildren: Kyle, Luke, Caleb, Riley, Gracen, Hannah, Ryann, Hadley, and Isaac, all of whom love her deeply. Patsy also leaves behind a brother, Donald Hundley and his wife, Nancy. Patsy was a 1962 graduate of George Washington High School and a 1966 graduate of Longwood College where she received her degree in Home Economics. Patsy later returned to school to study accounting. She retired as a staff accountant from the Virginia Department of Transportation in 2004 after 22 years of service. Patsy was an active member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church, where she formed many friendships, sang in the choir for several years, and organized a prayer shawl ministry. She was an accomplished seamstress and knitter whose talents included dying and spinning wool to make her own yarn. She will be missed dearly by a host of extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 1pm at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 5200 Grove Ave, Richmond, VA 23226.
