On April 19, 2019, Patricia “Tranny” Mansfield Royster Vipperman, 75, of 137 Clifton Street, went to her Heavenly Home. She was born October 16, 1943 to the late John F. and Martha W. Mansfield. She lived most of her life in Danville. In 1996 she married the late Douglas W. Vipperman and spent several years in the Sutherlin area taking care of Doug until his passing. Patricia was retired from Health-Tex where she had 34 years of service. She was a member of the Central Boulevard Church of God. There was no one that knew her that didn’t love her. She was the most caring, kind, and giving person. If someone needed help, she was the first one to step in. Her main goal in life was to see her family happy and she spent her entire life trying to make that happen. She was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. She is survived by the father of her children, Charlie J. Royster; two daughters, Cindy R. Curtis and Patricia Dianne Neal; one step-daughter, Kimberly V. Smith (L. D.); one step-son, Derek Vipperman; two grandsons, Robbie Curtis (Chasity) and Mitchell Taylor; one great-grandson, Dekotah Curtis (Kelsey); three great-granddaughters, Karson Taylor, Rhianna Taylor and Trinity Curtis; two sisters Judy Taylor and Mary Layne Moorefield (Wade); and numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and aunts. She is also survived by her best friend, Romona Worley and by her grand dog, Scruffy. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Phillip Curtis and a step-daughter, Laverne Vipperman. Funeral services (casual attire at Patricia’s request) will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 4 PM at Central Boulevard Church of God with the Reverend John Meadows and the Reverend Daryl Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 PM to 3:45 PM prior to the funeral on Monday and at other times at the residence. The family requests that memorials may be made to Central Boulevard Church of God Building Fund, 235 Hairston Street, Danville, VA 24540.
