Patricia Rogers

August 18, 1955 — July 24, 2013

Pat was born on August 18, 1955 in Danville, Virginia. She was the daughter of Frank J. Roark and Janey Hamlett Roark. She graduated from George Washington High School and Elon College where she was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. After college she was a primary education teacher. Her calling was sales and she went to work for Levi Strauss and Company as a territory representative. During that time she was honored as the first female recipient of the E.W. Scrubb award which recognizes the most outstanding sales representative in the entire company globally for the previous year. At the time of the award Levi Strauss was the largest apparel manufacturer in the world. She finished her career as a regional manager in Atlanta, Georgia. On August 3, 2003 she married Timothy Drake Rogers in a private sunset ceremony on the island of St. John's, U.S Virgin Islands. They returned home to Duluth, Georgia where Pat owned a retail store and Tim was a manager with Home Depot Supply. They spent most weekends at their lake home at Lake Oconee where they often entertained friends. The beach music would be blaring and Pat and Tim would be shagging around the house! In 2005 they both moved to the lake permanently and started new careers in real estate. Due to hard work and long hours they developed a successful business model helping clients find the right home at the lake. The result was also making new friends who then referred new clients as well. They worked for ReMax Lake Oconee until the merger under the Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee brand. It was no secret that they often praised Ann Foster and Kay Stevens for teaching them the real estate business for which they are eternally grateful. Pat was a million dollar producer every year which is a rare and difficult accomplishment. She was recently honored as a member of the Coldwell Banker International Diamond Society which recognizes the top agents globally. Pat had an incredible contagious positive personality which endeared her to all. She would always address anyone by "Hey Darlin" with an unforgettable smile and glow. She and Tim were blessed with loving family members and countless dear friends. They both appreciated the support of love and prayers from everyone during Pat's illness. She faced the situation with courage and optimism with incredible strength and grace! The world has lost a treasure as God needed another angel! She was preceded in death by her father Frank Roark and brother Terry Roark. She is survived by her husband Tim Rogers, mother Janey Hamlett Roark, brother Frankie Alan Roark, his son Cody Lee Roark, and her special aunt Fleecy Hamlett. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend W. L. Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home, Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM and at other times at the residence of her mother, 249 Southland Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family respectively requests any donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, Georgia.
