Mrs. Patricia Collins Bolt (Pat), of Danville VA, passed away after a short battle with ALS on January 16, 2017 at the age of 73. Pat was born to parents Buck and Pauline Collins on September 5, 1943 in Greenville, SC. She grew up in Piedmont, SC. and graduated from Carolina High School in 1961. Pat went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary education from Erskine College. Pat married Charles S. Bolt on February 20, 1965. She was an elementary school teacher in Japan, North Carolina, South Carolina and Danville, Virginia until her retirement in 2003. After her retirement, she continued to work with the First Presbyterian Day School as Chairman. She was also a deacon in the church and member of the church choir, Danville Arts Association, Wednesday club and Retired Teachers association. Pat enjoyed painting as well as spending afternoons eating with her Lunch Bunch. She treasured time with her family, making memories cooking, laughing, and spending vacations on Hilton Head Island. Patricia is survived by her husband, Charles Bolt; her daughters, Lisa Bolt and her husband Terry Isom of Danville, Debra Thompson of Lenox Ma. and Chrissie Bolt of Buford Ga; grandchildren Anna and Rachel Worley; her sister in law, Anita Collins, nephew Harper Collins and cousin Joey Collins and honorary granddaughter Libby White. She is preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Pauline Collins; and her brother, Thomas Collins. A visitation will be held Saturday, January 21st from 1:30 to 2:30 at First Presbyterian Church of Danville Virginia with a service of celebration following at 3 pm. The family will be spreading her ashes on the beach in Hilton Head Island in remembrance of their many summers spent there together. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Day School at First Presbyterian Church.
