Odie Irene Hamlett Elliott, 95, of Danville, died peacefully on January 13, 2015 in Chester, VA. Visitation will be held at Townes Funeral Home in Danville on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm. The funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Reverend Lamarr Mooneyham of The Tabernacle. There will be a private graveside service to follow. She was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to Florence Walker Hamlett and Albert W. Hamlett. She married Millard Elliott November 13, 1937. She is survived by the families of her two sons Don E. Elliott (Patsy), Larry E. Elliott (Margaret), five grandchildren, Pamela Anderson (Bob), Chester, VA, Tori Colb (Mike), Colonial Heights, VA, Staci Hartman (Eric), Chester, VA., Landi Bradner, deceased (Derek), Blanch, NC, Eddie Elliott (Angeline) Fort Mill, SC, and 2 step grandchildren, Charles Palmer (Natascha), Sanger, TX, and Dawn Palmer, Chester, VA. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Velma Sater and Lucy Hibble, Danville VA, and one brother, Douglas Hamlett, Blairs, VA. She was a devoted wife for 71 years and loving mother and grandmother. She retired from Dan River Mills after 35 years and was a faithful member of The Tabernacle, faithful nursery worker, and secretary for the Auditorium Bible Class.
