Nola Scearce

Nola Irby Scearce formally of 1336 Halifax Road, Danville, Virginia passed away Thursday January 17, 2019 at Roman Eagle Nursing Home where she had resided for 13 months. Born August 16, 1925 she was the oldest of the 10 children of William Nathaniel Irby and Mary Doss Irby. She is survived by a son Lawrence Gene Wilson and wife Judy McGuire Wilson, a grandson Charles Anthony (Tony) Wilson, a granddaughter Penny Renee Wilson, 3 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister, Ora Irby Blanks. Nola was predeceased by her first husband, Hugh Wilson and later her second husband, Lester Scearce, also two sons James Hugh Wilson and Terrell Bennett Wilson, grandson Bobby Scott Wilson, sisters Effie I. Hardy, Esther I. Pearson,  Bettie I. Laffell, brothers Dallas, Carlton, Sterlin, Charlie and Maynard Irby. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Townes Memorial Chapel at 3 PM with the Reverend Myron Bruce officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service and other times, the family will be at the home of Lawrence Wilson, 468 Mt. Hermon Circle, Danville, VA.
