Nellie Daniel

Nellie Ruth Stephens Daniel went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Born on February 3, 1935, in Delta County, TX, she was the tenth of twelve children and youngest daughter of the late James Stephens and Essie Pierce Stephens. She was the devoted wife to Lewis Oscar Daniel, Jr. for 63 years. Loving mother to her children, son Lewis Wayne Daniel and his wife, Ann, of Danville, VA; daughter Jeanne Daniel Fowler and her husband, Tommy, of Danville, VA; and son Russel Taylor Daniel and his very good friend, Vickie, of Danville, VA. Cherished grandmother to her grandchildren, Dusty F Easley and her husband, Micah, Traci F Nuckols and her husband, Keenan, and Justin Fowler; and great-grandmother to Edward Easley, Easton Nuckols, and the late Kade Nuckols. She was a dear sister to her two surviving siblings, Mary Horton of Fort Worth, TX, and Larry Stephens of Fort Worth, TX.  Mrs. Daniel was a member of Holland Road Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her love of family, friends, and Jesus.  A funeral service will be held at Holland Road Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, with Rev. James B. Mayes officiating. Interment to follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 8, from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M., and at other times at the residence of 207 Westmore Drive.  Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street, is serving the Daniel family.
