Nancy Tate McFall, 80, died peacefully at home on Saturday, July 23, 2022. She was born September 2, 1941 in Stuart, Virginia, the only child of Elmo S. Tate and Pauline Graham Tate. Nancy was a member of Keen Street Baptist Church, now United Baptist Church. She graduated from Parkview High School, South Hill, Virginia in 1958. She attended nursing school at Petersburg General Hospital before graduating from Danville Memorial Hospital School of X-ray Technology in 1961. With her children grown, Nancy entered Danville Community College receiving her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree in 1983. She retired as charge nurse from Roman Eagle Memorial Home in 2005 after 22 years of service. Prior to that Nancy served as a kindergarten aide and “lunch room lady” at Sutherlin Academy for 10 years. Nancy celebrated 61 years of marriage this past February to F. Lawrence McFall, Jr. Nancy is survived by her husband and 3 children, Earle J. Moore, Jr. (Liz), Athens, GA., Jean M. Isom (Brian), Danville, and Carol M. Slaughter (Joey), Danville; grandchildren, Crystal M. Neal (Joseph) Danville, Daniel McClananhan (Abbey) Wilmington, NC, Tripp Moore, GA, Mallory Moore, GA, Elizabeth Slaughter, Arlington, VA, Edward Slaughter, Durham, NC, and Jeremiah Slaughter, Danville, great-grandchildren: Hannah, Isaiah, Micah, and Lydia Neal, Owen McClanahan, and Mason Moore. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 25, 2022 at 2pm in Highland Burial Park with Dr. Adam Woods and Rev. Brian Edwards officiating.
