Mozelle Drumwright Robinson passed away at Roman Eagle Memorial Home, where she had been a resident for the past two years, on Friday, March 29, 2019. She was born on May 29, 1924, in Danville, the daughter of William P. Drumwright and Gertrude Gilleland Drumwright. She attended Danville Public Schools. On February 2, 1946, she married Raymond S. Robinson. Mozelle was a lover of children, beginning with her own but extending to scores that she cared for in her home the last twenty years of her working life. She maintained relationships with some of the children she kept and with their families until the end of her life. Her husband died when she was only thirty-six years old, but she never married again, dedicating her life to her children and also to caring for her mother until her death in 1973. She was preceded in death by her parents and her four siblings: William C. Drumwright, Curtis G. Drumwright, Edgar M. Drumwright, and a sister, Eloise Drumwright Owen. She is survived by her children, Patricia Ann Robinson of Greensboro, and Raymond S. Robinson, Jr., of Cascade, and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with her wishes, graveside rites will be conducted Sunday, March 31, at Highland Burial Park at 2 PM., with Reverend John Carroll and Reverend Angela Zimmerman officiating. The family is grateful to the many dedicated people at Roman Eagle who lovingly cared for her, and especially those who were so diligent and compassionate in her final days.
