Minnie Wells

Minnie Edith Shelton Wells, age 96 died April 12, 2017 at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after a decline in health.                She was born in Pittsylvania Co., VA on September 12, 1920, a daughter of the late Howard Lee Shelton and Willie Maude Saunders Shelton.                She was the last member of her immediate generation and was retired from Dan River, Inc.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by a son, Ronald Thomas Wells, Sr. and four brothers and three sisters.                Surviving are two daughters; JoAnn W. Eckard and her husband Rowe and Patsy W. Worley and her husband Perry.  Also surviving are four grandsons; Ronald Thomas Wells, Jr., Christopher Miles Wells, Rowe Neil Eckard, III and Andrew Lane Eckard and one granddaughter, Marisa Blair Eckard Horn and seven great-grandchildren.                Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. from the graveside at Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Paul Worsham, Pastor at North Main Baptist Church officiating.                The family requests that memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.                Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Wells family.
