Mildred Dyer Moore, age 90 died on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center after a decline in health. Mrs. Moore was born in Danville on November 4, 1928, daughter of the late William D. Dyer and Grovene F. Dyer. Mildred worked for the Danville Public Schools as a cafeteria manager at Grove Park and Park Avenue Elementary Schools for 38 years. Being around children was a joy for her until her retirement at the age of 80. Family meant the world to Mildred and rarely missed the chance to attend her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities. She was married to Garland “Runt” Moore in 1948 who died in August of 1995. Besides her parents and husband, Mildred was predeceased by her son Keith who died in June of 1982. Mildred is survived by her children, Mark D. Moore (Cindy), Karen M. Tuck and Ellen M. Thompson (Scott); grandchildren, Jason Moore (Yumi), Amy Grogan (Jarrod), Adam Moore (Dana), Kari Collins (Brandon) and Keith Snead (Dana); great-grandchildren, Madisyn and Cole Grogan, Lane and Nolan Collins and Annalise and Natalie Snead. Also surviving, her brother, William F. Dyer (Faye). She was a member of West Main Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. from the graveside at Mountain View Cemetery with the Reverend Joe Northen officiating. The family will be at the residence of Scott and Ellen Thompson, 3026 Breezewood Drive.
