Michael Travis Cockman

Michael Travis Cockman, 49 years old, passed away Tuesday January 7, 2025, at UVA University Hospital in Charlottesville, VA.

Michael was born October 3, 1975, in Greensboro, North Carolina, a son to the late Hurley and Theresa Cockman. He was of Christian Faith, and he worked in construction, finishing drywall since he was a teenager. He loved Nascar, fishing, and skateboarding with his brothers as a child growing up. But most of all he loved his children.

Michael is survived by Andrea Huffsteller, mother to son Christian Cockman (Shelby), daughter Kennedy Armstrong (Ryan), and a daughter that predeceased him, Serena Rae Cockman. Crystal Cockman, mother to daughter Isabella Cockman and son Codi Cockman, a brother, Dustin C. Cockman (Melissa), nephews Brandon Gosnay, Eric Hunt, Gavin Cockman and Brantley Cockman, and nieces Victora Cockman and Layla Cockman.

 In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by daughter Serena R Cockman, brother Samuel Cockman and sister Kimberly Cockman Hunt.

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Michael Cockman to Compassion Church for The Hope Center Ministries Recovery Program.
