Melinda Scott

Melinda Parrott Scott, 58, of Danville, passed away on November 7, 2018. Born in Danville, she was a daughter of Marjorie Boggs Parrott and the late Paul Wesley Parrott. Melinda had a heart of gold who loved to make everyone laugh. She enjoyed cooking and being able to help others. Some of her most enjoyable times were those spent with her family. She especially enjoyed her time with her daughter, Ashley Scott, who she would brag about any chance she had. She was always so proud of Ashley and all of her many accomplishments. In addition to her mother and daughter, Melinda is survived by three sisters, Irma Epps, Teresa Hutson (Lee), and Karo Cofflin; and three nephews, Wesley and Daniel Jones, and Frankie Hutson. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Scott, Jr.; two daughters, Priscilla L. and Cheryl J. Scott; and one brother, Johnny W. Parrott. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Townes Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Townes Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.
