Maynard Francis Case

Maynard Francis Case was born on May 27, 1929, in Danville, Virginia. He entered his Heavenly home on March 15, 2025. He was the son of the late Ralph Waldo Case and Ellen Ruth Tigner Case.

He was educated in the Danville Public Schools and embraced continuing education to learn all he could to excel in his profession and civic involvement. In 1951, he joined the United States National Guard serving at Fort Polk, Louisiana during the Korean War.

On February 4, 1947, he married the former Pauline “Polly” Taylor who predeceased him on July 2, 2009. They celebrated sixty-two years of marriage, and he faithfully cared for Polly for over 38 years during her journey with Lupus.

Maynard began his career in his family business working alongside his father and brother and later was associated with Wyatt Buick for over 54 years, from February 1, 1953, to February 28, 2007. At the time of his retirement, he was Vice President and Sales Manager.

He was an active long-time member of Moseley Memorial United Methodist Church serving in numerous roles until their closing in June 2019. He then began attending College Park Baptist Church and did so until his health declined.

Maynard believed in giving back to his community. He served in various organizations over the years. He was a Masonic Veteran in the Morotock Masonic Lodge No. 210 where he served as Past-Master of the Lodge and District Deputy Grandmaster. He was past president of the T.P.A for over 60 years.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a brother, Charles E. Case, Sr, and his wife Irene, and sisters Virginia Case Elliott and her husband Ralph of Rochester, NY and Barbara Case McCormick and her husband Herbert Sr. of Dothan, Alabama. Maynard is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Townes Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.

A private interment for the family will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
