Mary Harrison

Mary Ellen Hickey Harrison passed away on September 20, 2018 at her home. She was born in Milledgeville, Georgia, on August 22, 1940, and was predeceased by her parents, William Seward and Helen Lucille Holzinger Hickey. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Glenn Harrison of the home; children Thomas and Amy Harrison of Louisville, KY, Kathleen Harrison and Rudy Bautista of New Orleans, LA, Michael and Nicole Harrison of Ashburn, VA; and grandchildren Daniel Harrison, Luke Harrison, and Andrew Harrison of Louisville, KY, Angeli Bautista, and Elaine Bautista of New Orleans, LA, Gavin Harrison, Jack Harrison, and Kaija Harrison of Ashburn, VA.  Also surviving are her brothers, Bill and Phyllis Hickey of Rochester, NY, Bob and Isabel Hickey  of Palmyra, VA, Dan and Sue Hickey of Cumming, GA, and Jerry and Marsha Hickey of Brockport, NY, as well as in-laws Pat and Sue Harrison of Taylorsville, UT, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mary Ellen was a school teacher in the Danville School System before retiring.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 43 years.  She was also a proud member of the Deep End Painters at Averett University for many years.  She had many interests and loved them all, but especially her family who will miss her dearly. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.    A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. with  Father Jonathan Geortz officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
